As the title suggested, Fare Thee Well tour was the last string of shows with the surviving members of the Grateful Dead.The band played three nights at Soilder Field in Chicago and 71,000 + crusty’s converged on the city to party. Speculating on set lists made the usual rounds in conversation, but how Trey was going to fit in with the Dead seemed to capture most of the air. Along with many others, I managed to sneak into Soilder Field for two of the three shows which I didnt have tickets for. Security didn’t seem to mind. I think they were dumbfounded with the number of attendees and relieved when they noticed that the fans weren’t there to create trouble, but just party and enjoy the tunes. Records were played and broken that weekend and these images serve as memory.
